CREMATION LEGISLATION
Regulations for the control of cremation are necessary to prevent the concealment of crime, since Cremation effectively destroys all evidence of foul play.
Regulations governing cremation includes the following:
- Medical certification of the cause of the death and “Application for Cremation” of the deceased person by an executor or nearest relative.
- Coroner’s certificate and police report in the case of accident or sudden death
- registration for requests for cremation and medical certification
- Objection to cremation by relatives of the deceased and procedure for adjudication by a medical referee
- Disposal of ashes after cremation
- Exportation of ashes to another country
